The neighbouring rights issue enters the political debate.
Two parliamentary questions have recently been submitted to update on the Italian market’s situation: a de facto monopoly by IMAIE (since years and years) in managing neighbouring rights.
The two questions prompt to reflect on the advantages of a competitive model, in use in most advanced foreign countries: a dynamic and efficient market, where different organizations can operate in a system of free competition, a context where performers and producers are ensured full power to decide which structure to entrust the management of their rights.
