EU: Collective Rights Management Directive approved.
The new Collective Rights Management Directive, regarding collective management of copyright, neighbouring rights and multi- territorial licensing of rights in music works for online use, has been adopted by the Council of the European Union, which is the final stage of approval required before it comes into effect.
The Directive will modernize the market introducing rules of governance and transparency for collecting management organization that administer copyright and neighbouring rights.
ITSRIGHT has adopted procedures in compliance with the Directive for a long time, in order to ensure a transparent and efficient management of performers' rights.
