ITSRIGHT and SIAE: deal on private copying.

ITSRIGHT and Siae have signed a deal on private copying remuneration.

ITSRIGHT will receive remuneration for private copying regarding its producers’ repertoire, directly from SIAE.  ITSRIGHT will, then, distribute compensations to right holders.

The remuneration for Private Copying is applied through a royalty to all blank phonographic and videographic carriers in exchange for the possibility to record copyrighted works. The right is protected by the Italian Copyright Law (Article 71- septies Law No. 633/41) and it is recognized in most countries in the E.U.
