Streaming and unpaid royalties to performers: a seminar with LCA Studio Legale

Music streaming is far from being a democratic and sustainable ecosystem. For quite some time, performers across Italy and Europe have been denouncing the inadequacy of the current remuneration system, which harms the entire category.

The seminar series, organized in collaboration with LCA Studio Legale, concludes with a highly relevant topic at both national and European levels. "Fair and proportionate remuneration for performers in music streaming market and collective management " is the title of the event, scheduled for Monday, March 24, 2025, at the LCA Auditorium – Via della Moscova 18, Milan.
Speakers will include lawyer Giulio Vecchi from LCA and Professor Matteo Tarantino from University Cattolica of Milano, who has contributed to one of the many studies confirming that performers and musicians remain largely excluded from the wealth generated by on-demand streaming. Most of these revenues continue to be concentrated in the hands of streaming platforms and record producers.
